Thanksgiving Cocktails

Are you hosting Thanksgiving Dinner or have you been asked to bring, "the rolls?" Whatever the case may be, from now until Thanksgiving I will be posting a few recipes each day, to help you find the perfect dish(es) you may need.

Todays recipes are some fun and festive cocktails! When family and friends get together, a lot of the time it is fun to have a good yummy drink to sip on while visiting.

I found a few that should be sure to please any palate:

-11 mint leaves
-1 Tbsp brown sugar -1.25 oz rum -1 Tbsp pumpkin -1/2 lime -2 oz soda
Preparation
1. Muddle mint leaves and sugar.
2. Add rum, pumpkin, and juice from 1/2 lime. Mix well, add ice, top with soda, and garnish with extra mint leaves.
***Makes 1 drink.

-5 fl. oz. apple cider concentrate (If you don't have apple cider concentrate, just simmer apple cider on the stovetop, uncovered, until it has reduced by 75 percent, about 40 minutes, and let cool before using.)
-5 fl. oz. water
-3 fl. oz. brandy
-5 fl. oz. Cointreau or triple sec
-2 fl. oz. fresh lemon juice
-Apple

Preparation
1. In a cocktail shaker, stir together the apple cider concentrate and water. Add the brandy, Cointreau and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well. Pour into sugar-rimmed cocktail glasses. Garnish with an apple slice. Serves 4.

Cranberry Margarita

-2 cups tequila
-1 1/3 cups cranberry juice
-1 cup orange-flavored liqueur (triple sec of Cointreau)
-2/3 cup fresh-squeezed lime juice
Preparation
1. Combine the tequila, cranberry juice, orange liqueur, and lime juice in a large pitcher. Shake over ice.
2. Strain into margarita glasses or low cocktail flutes. Alternately, strain into low tumblers filled with ice. Serves 10.
Hopefully these add a little more cheer and fun to you Thanksgiving feast! Enjoy! I know I will be! ;)
